Privacy Policy — QR Code Generator
Last updated: October 2026
1. Who We Are
This Privacy Policy describes how the QR Code Generator app (“we”, “our”, “the app”) handles information when it is installed on a Wix website. The app is developed and operated by an independent developer and is distributed through the Wix App Market.

2. Roles
The site owner who installs the app is the data controller for the content of their QR codes. We act as a data processor, operating the app’s backend on the site owner’s behalf. All data is stored in the site owner’s own Wix Data collections and site settings on Wix infrastructure and is subject to Wix’s Privacy Policy.
3. What Data the App Processes
Codes created by the site owner: the content of each code (a link, a Wi-Fi network name and password, contact card details, an email address, a phone number, a message or text), its name and design. The name is visible only to the site owner.
Editable codes: for each editable code the app creates a redirect in the site’s own SEO redirect settings, from the site’s address /qr/<short name> to the link the site owner chose. The app reads the site’s published address and plan from Wix to do this.
Visitors: the app collects no personal data from visitors. Scanning a code happens on the visitor’s own phone; editable codes are answered by the site itself. When the site widget shows a code of the current page, that address is turned into a code in the visitor’s browser and is not sent to us.
4. Cookies and Local Storage
The app does not set any cookies. In the visitor’s browser the widget uses sessionStorage to keep a copy of the code it shows for faster loading; it is cleared when the tab is closed. In the site owner’s dashboard, localStorage remembers whether a short review request was already shown.
5. Third-Party Services
The app uses no analytics, tracking, advertising or short-link services. A logo chosen for a code is loaded from the site’s own Wix media. Links inside codes open only when someone scans or taps them and are then governed by those sites’ own policies.
6. Data Retention and Deletion
Codes persist in the site owner’s Wix Data collections until the site owner deletes them in the app dashboard or uninstalls the app. When deleting an editable code, the site owner chooses whether its redirect stays (printed copies keep working) or is removed. Redirects can also be removed in the site’s SEO settings.
7. GDPR / CCPA
The site owner decides what a code contains and is responsible for having a lawful basis to publish any personal data in it (for example, contact details on a business card) and for answering data-subject requests by editing or deleting the code. We do not use this data for our own purposes, do not sell it and do not share it with third parties.
8. Children’s Privacy
The app is not directed at children and does not collect data from visitors.
9. Changes to This Policy
