Privacy Policy — Quiz Maker

1. Who We Are

This Privacy Policy describes how the Quiz Maker app (“we”, “our”, “the app”) handles information when it is installed on a Wix website. The app is developed and operated by an independent developer and is distributed through the Wix App Market.

2. Roles

The site owner who installs the app is the data controller for the quizzes they create and for the leads they collect from their visitors. We act as a data processor, operating the app’s backend on the site owner’s behalf. All quiz and lead data is stored in the site owner’s own Wix Data collections on Wix infrastructure and is subject to Wix’s Privacy Policy.

3. What Data the App Processes

Quiz content (entered by the site owner): questions, answers, results, images chosen by the site owner, texts, appearance settings and, on the paid plan, a webhook address. Stored in the site’s Wix Data collections.

Playing a quiz: a visitor’s answers are processed in their browser to show the result. When the visitor finishes, the answers are sent to the app’s server only to update anonymous counters (see below); they are not stored with any identifier.

Leads (only if the site owner turns on the lead form): when a visitor submits the form, the app stores the name and email address the visitor typed (only the fields the site owner chose to ask for), the visitor’s answers and the result. The result stored is calculated by the app’s server from the site owner’s quiz.

Contacts: the app adds the visitor’s name and email address to the site owner’s Wix Contacts so the lead appears with the owner’s other customers.

Webhooks: if the site owner (on the paid plan) enters a webhook address, each lead is also sent to that address; the site owner is responsible for the service they choose.

Usage counts: anonymous counters per quiz and day (views, starts, completions, how often each result was reached, how often each question was answered correctly). They contain no personal data.

4. Cookies and Local Storage

The app does not set any cookies. In the visitor’s browser it uses sessionStorage to remember that a quiz view was already counted in the current session and to keep a copy of the quiz for faster loading. These values contain no personal data and are cleared when the browser tab is closed.

5. Third-Party Services

The app uses no analytics, tracking or advertising services of its own. Images in a quiz are loaded from the addresses the site owner chose. Share buttons are plain links to Facebook, X and WhatsApp that open only when a visitor clicks them. If the site already has Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager or a Meta Pixel, the quiz reports quiz events to them inside the visitor’s browser; it loads none of them itself.

6. Data Retention and Deletion

Quizzes, leads and usage counters persist in the site owner’s Wix Data collections until the site owner deletes them or uninstalls the app. Deleting a quiz does not delete the leads it collected. Site owners can delete any lead from the Leads tab of the app dashboard or in the Wix CMS.

Because the app stores leads on the site owner’s behalf, the site owner is responsible for having a lawful basis for that processing, for telling visitors in their own privacy policy that the details are collected, and for responding to data-subject requests, using the delete tools in the dashboard and in Wix. The app can show a consent checkbox with text chosen by the site owner. We do not use any of this data for our own purposes, do not sell it, and do not share it with third parties.

8. Children’s Privacy

The app is not directed at children. Site owners should not use the lead form to knowingly collect personal data from children under 13 (or the age of digital consent in their jurisdiction).

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date above reflects the latest revision.
