1. Who We Are

This Privacy Policy describes how the Testimonials Wall app (“we”, “our”, “the app”) handles information when it is installed on a Wix website. The app is developed and operated by an independent developer and is distributed through the Wix App Market.

2. Roles

The site owner who installs the app is the data controller for the testimonials they add and for the testimonials their visitors send. We act as a data processor, operating the app’s backend on the site owner’s behalf. All data is stored in the site owner’s own Wix Data collections on Wix infrastructure and is subject to Wix’s Privacy Policy.

3. What Data the App Processes

Testimonials added by the site owner: customer name, role, company, testimonial text, rating, date, source and link, photo link and tags, typed in or imported by the site owner. The site owner is responsible for having the customer’s permission to publish them.

Wall settings: layout, theme, colors, filters, texts and collect-form options.

Testimonials sent by visitors (only if the site owner turns on the collect form): the name, the testimonial text and, if the site owner asks for them, a star rating, a role or company and an email address. A submission is stored as “to review” and is shown on the site only after the site owner approves it. The email address is never shown on the site; only the site owner sees it in the app dashboard.

Spam protection: to limit how many testimonials one network can send per day, the app stores a one-way hash (SHA-256) of the sender’s network address combined with the wall and the date. The network address itself is not stored, and the hash cannot be linked across days or walls.

4. Cookies and Local Storage

The app does not set any cookies. In the visitor’s browser it uses sessionStorage to keep a copy of the wall’s published testimonials for faster loading; it is cleared when the tab is closed.

5. Third-Party Services

The app uses no analytics, tracking or advertising services and makes no requests to third-party servers from visitors’ browsers, except loading the photos the site owner chooses (normally hosted on Wix Media) and opening a review link when a visitor clicks it.

6. Data Retention and Deletion

Testimonials and walls persist in the site owner’s Wix Data collections until the site owner deletes them in the app dashboard or in the Wix CMS, or uninstalls the app. Removing a wall or the widget does not delete testimonials.

The site owner is responsible for having a lawful basis for publishing testimonials, for telling visitors in their own privacy policy that the collect form stores what they send, and for responding to data-subject requests using the delete tools in the dashboard and in Wix. We do not use this data for our own purposes, do not sell it and do not share it with third parties.

8. Children’s Privacy

The app is not directed at children. Site owners should not use the collect form to knowingly collect personal data from children under 13 (or the age of digital consent in their jurisdiction).

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date above reflects the latest revision.
