Privacy Policy — Before & After Photo Compare

1. Who We Are
This Privacy Policy describes how the Before & After Photo Compare app (“we”, “our”, “the app”) handles information when it is installed on a Wix website. The app is developed and operated by an independent developer and is distributed through the Wix App Market.

2. Roles
The site owner who installs the app is the data controller for the photos and texts of their comparisons. We act as a data processor, operating the app’s backend on the site owner’s behalf. All data is stored in the site owner’s own Wix Data collections on Wix infrastructure and is subject to Wix’s Privacy Policy.
3. What Data the App Processes
Comparisons created by the site owner: links to the chosen before and after photos (from the site’s own Wix media, or https links the site owner pastes), their descriptions for screen readers, captions, labels, design settings and a name visible only to the site owner. The app reads the site’s plan from Wix to know which features are available.
Visitors: the app collects no personal data from visitors. Moving the slider happens only in the visitor’s browser and is not sent anywhere.
4. Cookies and Local Storage
The app does not set any cookies. In the visitor’s browser the widget uses sessionStorage to keep a copy of the comparison it shows for faster loading; it is cleared when the tab is closed. In the site owner’s dashboard, localStorage remembers whether a short review request was already shown.
5. Third-Party Services
The app uses no analytics, tracking or advertising services. Photos are loaded from the site’s own Wix media, or from the https addresses the site owner entered (those hosts are governed by their own policies). The sample comparison shown the first time the app is opened uses two illustrations hosted on GitHub Pages; they are never shown to visitors.
6. Data Retention and Deletion
Comparisons persist in the site owner’s Wix Data collections until the site owner deletes them in the app dashboard or uninstalls the app. Photos stay in the site’s media library; the app never deletes them.
7. GDPR / CCPA
The site owner decides which photos are published and is responsible for having the right to publish them, including consent of any people shown in them (for example, clients of a salon or a clinic), and for answering data-subject requests by replacing or deleting a comparison. We do not use this data for our own purposes, do not sell it and do not share it with third parties.
8. Children’s Privacy
The app is not directed at children and does not collect data from visitors.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date above reflects the latest revision.
